Henan, China – October 23, 2026 – A complete 2-ton-per-day (2TPD) castor oil refining line has successfully completed factory inspection and packaging and has been loaded for shipment to Nigeria. The delivery marks a further deepening of China-Nigeria cooperation in agricultural deep processing and provides critical equipment support for Nigeria's local castor oil industry to transition from raw material exports to higher-value refined products.

The 2TPD castor oil refining production line shipped includes a full process flow covering degumming, deacidification, bleaching, and deodorization. The equipment features a modular design specifically optimized for small-scale, distributed processing scenarios, offering high automation, simple operation and maintenance, and the ability to purify crude castor oil to high-quality standards at relatively low energy consumption. For small and medium-sized oil processing plants in Nigeria, this capacity scale effectively controls initial investment costs while retaining interfaces for future capacity expansion, delivering strong flexibility and practicality.

Nigeria is one of the world's important castor seed producers, with annual output estimated at approximately 300,000 tons, ranking among the top globally. However, constrained by insufficient domestic refining capacity, the country has long exported large quantities of low-cost castor seeds as raw material while spending significant foreign exchange to import refined castor oil to meet domestic demand in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and industrial lubrication. According to industry data, Nigeria imports refined castor oil worth over 30 billion naira annually due to the lack of processing capacity, representing a significant supply-demand gap and value loss in the market.

The introduction of this 2TPD refining equipment is a precise response to this industry pain point. Once operational, local processors will be able to directly process harvested castor seeds and produce refined castor oil meeting international standards on-site. This will not only help customers significantly improve product profit margins and reduce dependence on primary raw material exports, but also help gradually substitute imported refined oil in the Nigerian domestic market, forming a virtuous local industry cycle.

Industry analysts believe that with growing global demand for bio-based lubricants, green cosmetics, and biodegradable plastics, the strategic value of castor oil as a key industrial raw material continues to rise. Chinese oil equipment manufacturers, with mature refining processes and competitive delivery cycles, are gaining more attention in the Nigerian market. The shipment of this 2TPD equipment is not merely the delivery of a single order but a successful practice of Chinese small and medium-sized oil refining solutions adapting to localized needs in Africa.

The equipment has departed port and is expected to arrive at Lagos Port, Nigeria, in the coming weeks. The manufacturer stated that engineers will be arranged to provide remote guidance and on-site commissioning support to ensure the equipment can be quickly put into production upon arrival, helping the customer seize opportunities in the local refined castor oil market.
