Project Background: Targeting Kyrgyzstan's Cottonseed Oil Processing Demand
Kyrgyzstan lies in Central Asia's cotton-producing region, where local cottonseed supply is stable. However, the local oil processing capacity has long been dominated by small and medium-sized operations, with insufficient refining support, and some finished edible oil still relies on imports. As the local food processing industry gradually recovers, demand from small and medium-sized oil mills for integrated "pressing + refining" equipment with moderate investment thresholds and short commissioning cycles has risen noticeably.
The Kyrgyz customer in this project made precisely this market judgment, planning to build a cottonseed pressing line with a daily processing capacity of 20 tons, paired with 3 TPD refining capacity, to directly produce refined cottonseed oil meeting edible standards for the surrounding market.
Equipment Configuration: Pressing and Refining Working in Tandem, Adapted to Cottonseed Characteristics
The core configuration of this project consists of two stages. The pressing section adopts a 20 TPD cottonseed pretreatment and pressing line. Given the raw material characteristics of cottonseed — moderate oil content, presence of gossypol, and short linters — the line is equipped with cleaning, dehulling, kernel-hull separation, conditioning, and pressing equipment, controlling residual oil while providing stable-quality crude oil for the subsequent refining stage.
The refining section is a 3 TPD batch-type refining unit covering the complete processes of degumming, deacidification, bleaching, and deodorization. Cottonseed crude oil contains relatively high gossypol, so the bleaching and alkali refining stages have been optimized with targeted parameters to ensure the finished oil is bright in color and meets local edible oil standards for acid value and peroxide value. The entire equipment set is designed for ease of operation and stable performance, suitable for the staffing and operating conditions of small and medium-sized oil mills.
On-Site Commissioning: One-Time Successful Trial Run, Recognized by Customer
After the equipment arrived in Kyrgyzstan, our company dispatched technical service engineers to the site to guide installation and commissioning. Facing practical challenges such as language differences, climate, and differences in local utilities compared with domestic conditions, the technical team worked closely with the customer's operators to complete no-load single-machine tests, linked trial runs, and trial production with material. Ultimately, both the pressing line and the refining line achieved successful one-time trial runs, with crude oil and finished oil indices meeting the contractual standards.
The customer's responsible person at the production site stated that the manufacturing quality and commissioning efficiency of the Chinese equipment exceeded expectations, especially since the refining line produced qualified finished oil within a relatively short period, securing valuable time for subsequent market sales. At present, the customer has begun preparing for a second batch of raw material procurement and plans to achieve full-capacity production as soon as possible.
Market Significance: Deepening Central Asia, Building Reputation Through Small and Medium-Sized Projects
Central Asia is one of the important target markets for our company's grain and oil equipment exports. Countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan have a certain cotton planting base, and cottonseed oil occupies a place in the local edible oil consumption structure. Compared with large continuous production lines, small and medium-sized pressing and refining combinations in the 20 to 50 TPD range better match the financial strength and operational capabilities of local private enterprises, and also facilitate rapid commissioning and quick returns.
The successful commissioning of this Kyrgyzstan project further enriches our company's equipment operation data and process experience in Central Asian cottonseed processing scenarios. In the future, our company will continue to focus on Central Asian advantageous oilseeds such as cottonseed and sunflower seed, optimizing the energy efficiency and automation level of small and medium-sized turnkey equipment, and providing customers along the Belt and Road with one-stop services from process design and equipment manufacturing to installation and commissioning.
